New Delhi’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded to media claims about stepped‑up defense shipments, stressing that all exports meet global obligations and are thoroughly reviewed.

India’s official foreign ministry representative, Randhir Jaiswal, said the country’s defense exports are subject to rigorous scrutiny to ensure compliance with international law and multilateral agreements.

The remarks come after several media outlets reported a rise in arms deliveries from New Delhi to a number of foreign governments, prompting questions about the scope of the expansions.

Jaiswal highlighted India’s transparent licensing system, noting that each deal is assessed for strategic, humanitarian and legal considerations before approval.

Observers point out that while India aims to grow its defense industry, it remains bound by export control regimes such as the Missile Technology Control Regime and United Nations arms‑trade guidelines.
